Gridlock Treasury
My quirky little QR code quilt pattern is in a nifty little treasury! How cool is that?

Treasuries!
One of the things I love about Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Swaps is the community that it builds. Yesterday I had a pair of earrings in a Treasury, now I have pair of Vampire Vamp Wings included in a Treasury inspired by "things with wings". What fun! And my piece is next to my former swap buddy's Lynne Bowland of Island Girl Aztec Lovebird
The curator of this particular Treasury is Heidi of Expostfacto. Check out her shop!
My Bead Soup Partner, Angela May, has received her package from me and has blogged about it here -- I think she likes is!

Look what I got in the Mail (and email)!
I have been emailing back and forth with my Bead Soup Partner, Angela May at Lady Hawthorne about our bead soups. We were both having a bit of a time getting it together and, come to find out, our soups crossed in the mail. I have not heard whether she has received hers from me yet, so I will not show what I sent, but I will say that the color scheme of what I received is very similar to what I sent. Yes, we do have a lot in common -- maybe we are telepathic too, who knows!
Here is a close-up of that gorgeous stone bead -- this digital images does not do it justice! Crack quartz, glass and Czech beads with silver end caps and a lovely filigree clasp. I cannot wait to begin designing in my head. I already have some ideas.
Also, there has been a flurry of activity on the Bead Soup yahoo Group with several of the participants making Etsy Treasuries. Here is one by Hope Smitherman of CraftyHope where my amber and honey quartz earrings have been featured. I just LOVE that! (click on the image to enlarge)
Lori Anderson's Bead Soup Blog Hop has a reveal date of September 17th, so go on over to her blog and check out the list of over 360 participant's blogs.
Other than that, I have been busy trying to prepare for next weekend's four day Quilt Retreat. I usually end up bring almost everything but the kitchen sink, but I am trying to pare it down this time. We shall see if I succeed.

My Mom!
I cannot believe my mother's good fortune. On her first day on Etsy with only one product in her shop, she is selected for a Treasury!

Her Christmas Crazy Quilt is in the lower left corner. Check out her shop -- MagpieTreasureTrove (I designed her banner) and her blog Sandy's Coloring Box and send her some bloggy love.

Counting Treasures
This morning I was surprised to discover a pair of my earrings included in a great treasury compiled by one of the members of the local group. Just this week I joined the local Etsy team (Etsy Denton). I met most of these folks a couple of weeks back when they had a Barn Sale. I have been looking for a community like this!Other happenings in my life: I am now employeed on a regular basis by a little manufacturing company that makes Pewter Miniatures. I am doing quality control (QC) for them, which uses my keen attention to detail. I use to run a slide library -- when slides were still used for lectures -- in an Art Department and then at a Museum. Back then I could read the captions on the 35mm slides that were photographed from books and magazines without a loupe or magnifier. My vision is not what it use to be but I can still catch a metal boo-boo.
Also, I have one listing (and hope to add more soon) for pewter wings to be used as components. You have seen some of them in previous listings, but I am still perfecting them. The new catagory in my shop is "DreamCastings". Look out for Angel Wings to be added soon.
.
Something Sublime's Deryn Mentock has drawn my name TWICE in two recent giveaways. Looks like my luck is turning around. Maybe I should buy a Lottery Ticket.
.
Erin of Treasures Found is having a color challenge and I chose Fall Colors. The reveal will be December 3, 2010. I have been seeing the rich red hues that is the strongest color on the paint chip she sent me in the fall foliage. The other colors on my sample are much more timid creams and tans. I am definitely feeling the challenge, both in design and in time constraints. Where has the Fall gone?
.
That's the news from me.
.
What is squeezing your challenge muscle?

Bindweed Beetle Bracelet in a Treasury

My lovely Bindweed Beetle Bracelet has been included in a treasury designed by "Jewelry by NaLa" until then (and until Tuesday), check it out for yourself {LINK}
This is just such a treat. It seems to be the favorite item in my shop with lots of views and it was from a challenge. Hmmm, a challenge. Yes, I should challenge myself more often. Stay tuned.
