I'm getting in the Holiday Spirit now . . . 'bout time!

It's blisteringly cold and only a week until Christmas. All the tests have been graded and the grades have been sent in. I've made some lovely jewelry pieces and have some happy customers.

We have finally put up a tree just 5 days before Christmas. We are no scrooges, but are in the time of mending from recent grief of lost custody pursuit. We figure God has bigger plans for us.

So we put up a modest tree for the children to decorate and miss Patrick's absence terribly while he is out of state with his Dad.

Christmas this year is not of quiet anticipation, but of thoughtful reflection and assessment of where we have been and trying to discern where we are going. Life is full of unpredictability.

In the midst of it all, we are truly greatful to put the custody issue behind us and to begin to plan for our future before us. We are thankful for health, friends, and each other in ways we never thought possible.

What a journey! Seems so insignificant when I contemplate the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem.
